Connecting Connecticut Pastors and ministries together for Kingdom advancement

Promise Keepers Comes To Hartford Rick McKinniss
Most of you are probably aware by now
that Promise Keeper’s first major
gathering in New England will be held
August 20 and 21 at the Civic Center
in Hartford. This event came to the
capitol of our state as a result of
long and hard lobbying efforts by
Brian Doyle, PK’s representative in
New England. Brian lives and worships
in the Greater Hartford area, but news
of the conference coming here was very
much a pleasant surprise to him. "I’m
not sure how it happened, but I am glad
the decision was made to bring the
conference here."

Now that the decision has been made
(I like to believe the Lord had something
to do with the process), it behooves us
to seize the opportunity that such a major
happening offers. PK calls their large
rallies "catalytic events." Certainly
they can be catalytic for change in the
lives of individuals, as well as jump
starting a congregation’s ministry to men.
I believe that PK’s coming to the Civic
Center in August can be catalytic for the
Body of Christ in Greater Hartford and
throughout Connecticut.

When God’s people come together in such
public, visible demonstrations of worship
and biblical unity, something happens
with those who attend. Our hearts become
enlarged and our visions are stretched.
Also, something happens for the watching
world. The press will take notice of this
gathering. This event brings a message of
hope for our communities. It shows the
church demonstrating the kind of love
that bridges the cultural divides in our
society. The powers of darkness take
notice.
Such expressions of worship,
repentance and reconciliation do real
damage to the grip of darkness on a
region. And most importantly, God
takes notice "when brothers dwell
together in unity." The Bible says
that in that place, "the Lord commands
his blessing.". Now, obviously, two
days in the Civic Center will not
solve all of the state’s problems.
But it can be a catalyst for greater
things down the road. This year’s
conference will be laying out vision
for how we can continue to pursue
Kingdom advance in our cities, towns
and neighborhoods in the days to come.

Will you do the following in preparation
for the conference?

	1. Pray for God’s blessing upon
the plans and the actual meetings
	in August.

	2. Plan to attend. Sign up now
and think of someone you can
	encourage to attend with you
	(preferably another pastor or
someone who has yet to come to
	know Jesus).

	3. Be thinking of ways that you
can capitalize on the impact of
	the conference for reaching your
city once the rally is past.

	4. Encourage the men in your
church to attend and to volunteer
	for the conference.Let’s pray and
work for a catalytic event in
	Hartford come August! Blessings!

Connecticut House Of Prayer

Isaiah 56:7

"Even those I will bring to my holy mountain, And make
them joyful in my house of prayer.Their burnt offerings
and their sacrifices will be acceptable on my altar; For
my house will be called a house of prayer for all the
peoples."

CHOP (CT House of Prayer) was established to serve the body
of Christ in Connecticut through crossing denominational
and racial lines to pray for revival, unity and community
transformation. This house was built to serve Connecticut,
New England, the nation and the world, thus serving all
nations (people groups).

The vision for CHOP has been emerging since its conception.
Intercession has been established, but more than that, God has
been bringing together prayer leaders from the state to pray
for a united effort in and around Connecticut. Once a united
vision is established for the church and community, spiritual
breakthrough will be established.

CHOP’s vision extends to being a center for spiritual mapping
and resource / training center for intercessors. Strategic
level prayer meetings are being held and we feel the call to
seek the face of God for His plan for our cities, state,
nation and the world.

On Wednesday, March 24, 1999, an international Prayer Journey
came through Connecticut stopping at 870 Prospect Avenue in
Hartford to dedicate the CT House of Prayer. It was an exciting
and blessed day. It was confirmed that day that this house is
being built to assist in equipping the Body of Christ for
spiritual warfare for the greatest harvest we have ever known.

CHOP is strategically located on the top floor of Shiloh Christian
Ministries. We over look the skyline of Hartford, and often are
reminded on the importance to pray for our government. We are
facilitating the prayer covering for the Promise Keepers Conference
that is being held in Hartford on August 20 and 21, 1999. There is
a special prayer meeting for this event at CHOP every Wednesday
morning at 10:00 AM.

We have been busy since that first dedication meeting and are
prepared to hire our first part-time employee. God has blessed
us with the support of pastors, intercessors and finances. If
you want more information, please call CHOP at 860-233-7964 or
e-mail at cthop1@aol.com.
Promise Keeper’s informationGreetings Laborers in the Lord!
Great News!Raleigh Washington, Vice President of Reconciliation
with Promise Keepers, will visit with us at the conference site
- The Hartford Civic Center on Saturday, 6/19, from 9:00AM to
12:00 Noon.

If you are presently connecting, or you want to begin connecting
with churches in your area about the Men’s Conference in Hartford
on August 20-21, then you are invited to meet with Dr. Washington.
He will share the global vision for what the Lord is doing this
year among men and how our region can be part of His Amazing Work
Of Grace. We will be resourced with posters, tapes, inserts and
brochures that we can take back to our area.

WE WILL ALSO COVER THE CIVIC CENTER IN PRAYER!

Please pass this on to the men and women, clergy and laity who
are connecting with churches in the Northeast about the Hartford
Conference. Have those who will be attending RSVP to me so that
we have the resources needed to help them. Our goal is that 200
laborers in Southern New England will be connecting with at least
churches each. Won’t you be one of these 200? Serving with you,
Brian
