Introduction
for this Ministry
When watching late night television, one is inundated
with advertisements for so called "adult" phone
entertainment. Changing the channel or ignoring
them is a futile practice; they are everywhere.
These advertisement cater to lonely people, who
after hanging up, ultimately end up as empty inside,
as are their pockets. If only they would have
made a call to God. They could have been filled
with true love, and real acceptance. Unfortunately,
many people choose to believe attractive lies
instead of the truth of God. New Age philosophies,
cults and psychology are all competing with the
church for "market share" in helping
humanity define meaning and values of life. Many
of these competitors make it easy and attractive;
marketing has a new frontier --the human soul.
Because of the inner ache of loneliness and the
inner emptiness, people are ready for something
new. Like the woman at the well (John 4), many
have drunk the water of this world and are left
wanting more. This is a time that the Church could
be there to introduce Jesus to the hurting. It
seems instead, the chasm between the world and
the church widens, while the cults and the occult
prosper. The horrifying prospect of this grand
divide is not because of holiness and righteousness.
Our chasm, unfortunately, is because of the cultural
differences that makes us look like aliens to
onlookers. We have created out own subculture;
Our clothes, the way we talk, the way we act,
makes us appear as something that can't be grasped.
We believe the world is looking for something
real, genuine and even spiritual. The church of
Jesus Christ needs to be the one to offer an answer
to the inner ache of loneliness with a real Jesus
that will be communicated in a way that people
will understand.
The church needs to look genuine by the way we
live, the things we say, and the way we act. We
can't surrender to the cults, and 1-900- lines,
giving into the "spirit of the age". This is a
crucial battle of eternal proportions. We would
like to be a part of the church that will make
a difference in lives and hearts of the people
of this generation; one that brings the church
once again to our community as a viable, real
solution to the chasm inside all of us, the one
which only the Lord Jesus can fill.
Purpose
Because the call of God and the reasons listed
above our
purpose of Level-Ground is two fold:
1. To provide a variety of relevant Christian
resources to help build up the Body of Christ
by bringing a greater since of Community
both locally and nationally.
2. Provide and bring together tools for evangelizing
this generation, and potentially those to come.
